What causes hand tumor?

Causes are numerous and can be genetic, traumatic, inflammatory, or often simply unknown.

What are the symptoms?

Most hand tumors are visible but do not cause symptoms. Sometimes, tenderness of pain can be present secondary to pressure over another adjacent structure, such as a nerve.

How to diagnose it?

History and clinical examination are often enough for a presumptive diagnosis. X rays, MRI or ultrasound may be required.

Surgery

The preferred option is often to remove the tumor and get a definitive diagnosis with pathology. This is done under local anesthesia, most of the times.
