Are the consultation or surgery costs reimbursed or covered by RAMQ?
Dr. Brutus’ practice is entirely private and therefore independent from the Régie d’assurance Maladie du Québec (RAMQ). The costs related to the consultations and medical treatments are the responsibility of the patients.
Are the consultation or surgery costs reimbursed or covered by my insurance company?
Some patients may have insurances which are more generous than others but generally speaking, because of the Canadian health law, the private medical and surgical costs are not reimbursed by Canadian private insurances. Some patients have a foreign insurance, which sometimes accepts to reimburse their clients. The required documents are provided to favor the claim after the medical services have been provided. The payment of the costs remains the responsibility of the patient.
Are the consultation costs deducted from the surgery costs?
How to determine the exact cost of my procedure?
Each case and situation being different, the purpose of the medical consultation is to establish a diagnosis and a treatment plan. Based on that, the exact costs of the planned procedure(s) will be communicated to you. These prices are valid for a duration which will be communicated to you.
What is included in the surgery costs?
The costs related to a surgical procedure include the costs related to anesthesia, surgery, implants used (if applicable) and post-surgical follow-up for two years.
Are there financing arrangements available?
What are the terms of conditions of payment?
Are the costs related to the injections guided by ultrasound reimbursed by private insurances?
It depends on the type of insurance contract you have, but generally a part of the costs is often reimbursed by the insurer, after the treatment. A receipt is provided to the patient.
It is important to note that the ultrasound is performed to guide the injection for a greater accuracy and better results, but it does not constitute a diagnostic ultrasound (such as the one performed by a radiologist, for example). This is important because it may influence your insurer’s decision.
In addition, the costs entitle you to a tax credit depending on your personal fiscal status.
Are the sales taxes (TPS and TVQ) applicable?
What are the cancellation terms?
