Flexible medical plans:

Several companies offer flexible cost accounts or health spending accounts to help pay medical fees. Check with your employer to see if you are eligible for such a program.

Payment by employer or insurer:

If the cost of your procedure is covered, in whole or in part, by your employer or private insurance plan, please inform us in advance so that we may finalize the payment arrangements before the procedure.

Tax credits and deductions:

Healthcare expenses (not including cosmetic surgery) can entitle you to a tax credit for the portion which exceeds 3% of your annual income.

  • No charge follow-up consultation for 90 days.
  • First-class personalized medical follow-up.
Are the consultation or surgery costs reimbursed or covered by RAMQ?

Dr. Brutus’ practice is entirely private and therefore independent from the Régie d’assurance Maladie du Québec (RAMQ). The costs related to the consultations and medical treatments are the responsibility of the patients.

Are the consultation or surgery costs reimbursed or covered by my insurance company?

Some patients may have insurances which are more generous than others but generally speaking, because of the Canadian health law, the private medical and surgical costs are not reimbursed by Canadian private insurances. Some patients have a foreign insurance, which sometimes accepts to reimburse their clients. The required documents are provided to favor the claim after the medical services have been provided. The payment of the costs remains the responsibility of the patient.

Are the consultation costs deducted from the surgery costs?
The consultation costs are not deductible from the costs of an eventual intervention to respect the independence of choice of the patient and of the doctor.

How to determine the exact cost of my procedure?

Each case and situation being different, the purpose of the medical consultation is to establish a diagnosis and a treatment plan. Based on that, the exact costs of the planned procedure(s) will be communicated to you. These prices are valid for a duration which will be communicated to you.

What is included in the surgery costs?

The costs related to a surgical procedure include the costs related to anesthesia, surgery, implants used (if applicable) and post-surgical follow-up for two years.

Are there financing arrangements available?
The financing arrangement for surgical procedures is available with your usual banking institution, or from external financing companies, such as Credit Médical or iFinance. The clinic does not directly offer financing plans.
What are the terms of conditions of payment?
A 50% deposit is necessary to book the date of your surgery. The costs must be fully paid one week (7 DAYS) before the date of the surgery. They may be paid by credit card (Mastercard and Visa) or by certified check. In times of pandemic, cash is not accepted.
Are the costs related to the injections guided by ultrasound reimbursed by private insurances?

It depends on the type of insurance contract you have, but generally a part of the costs is often reimbursed by the insurer, after the treatment. A receipt is provided to the patient.

It is important to note that the ultrasound is performed to guide the injection for a greater accuracy and better results, but it does not constitute a diagnostic ultrasound (such as the one performed by a radiologist, for example). This is important because it may influence your insurer’s decision.

In addition, the costs entitle you to a tax credit depending on your personal fiscal status.

Are the sales taxes (TPS and TVQ) applicable?
The private essential medical services are currently not taxable and entitle you to a tax credit depending on your individual fiscal status. The medical services such as esthetic treatments or medical expertise are taxable.
What are the cancellation terms?
The medical consultation or surgery costs are in no way reimbursable after the consultation or surgery takes place. If a medical consultation or a surgery had to be cancelled for medical or legitimate personal reason, the costs would then be fully reimbursed or the appointment postponed to another date, depending on your preference.
